This is true story of how Russian Mafia has invaded America.Russian Mafia must be stopped just like any other ethnic mafia. Russian Mafia is mostly Jewish, but they betray even Israel for money. The Russian Mafia only works for itself, and no country. They have no loyalty to Russia, USA, or Israel, but only for their mafia organization.Russia , USA, and Israel have been victims of their crimes. Now is the time for all three countries to work together to limit the Russian Mafia.

Extremely frustrating!
By taking a rest
The demise, dissolution, breakup, choose your own word, of The Former Soviet Union is about as dramatic a Historical Event as one is likely to witness. It is not a simple topic, what has happened, and what will continue to evolve will fill hundreds of books well into the future. Attempting an overview of what is presented, as the largest illegal transfer of wealth on record cannot be done in 288 pages even if the pages are microfilm! Every time this book began to focus on a specific event, it would jump to the next.
There is more information in this 288-page book than anyone can possibly digest. Trying to keep track of the organizational structure of the "Mafiyas", and their relationships to each other, would take a Cray Supercomputer. The Author also touches on Historical events of huge import, theories on what may result from them, and they too are quickly abandoned, before any real exposition has been offered.
There is a theory that the wealth that has been removed from Russia/The Former Soviet Union could have similar effects politically as The Versailles Treaty of WW I had on Germany. It's an interesting idea, may warrant a book, but not the shallow mention it receives here. There are at least a dozen similar theories that are intriguing in the extreme. These cannot be treated like bulleted points in a memo.
This is a highlight book of illegal activity that spans from Meyer Lansky to the present. One of the problems is names like Genovese, Gambino, and Gotti, are familiar to readers of the genre. This book mentioned hundreds of organizations, and half the Countries on the Planet! You are rushed through diamond mines in Sierra Leone, Switzerland, Germany, Israel, Cuba, Azerbaijan, Turkey Brighton Beach Restaurants, half of South America, virtually all of North America, and nearly every state in the U.S. And there are the 14 time zones of Russia and the Prison System of The Gulags across Siberia.
The Author clearly knows his subject. I would hope he would take the time, slow down, and concentrate on depth rather than breadth.

My favorite self improvement book so far!

Okay, gonna be realistic here. I have had very bad social anxiety to the point where it was not only tough to communicate with people but also extremely difficult to talk to new people And I have to say, from all of the other self improvement books that I have read, this is the one that has helped me the most. Because of this book I have been able to meet more people, establish more relationships, and get more out of life.This is the book that gave me the chance to connect with people on a whole new level and I am so thankful that I took the time to pick up this book and better myself and life. Although I still have a bit to go in order to complete this book. The results that I have gained are amazing and I am positive that this book will help me pick up any woman I want without hesitation. I've seen women begin to notice me and like me already. It is through these many exercises that I have been able to change my view and approach of life.

I'm not exactly about being a pick up artist but this book is a great read for anyone interested in human interaction. Richard does a great job of breaking things down and going into detail. A man who isn't particularly interested in these things may still find themselves tempted to get out there and try out some of these methods.

Maybe a good book with another LPIC-1 study guide

I just got this book since I am going to take the combined Linux+/LPI exam being offered by Comptia. I read most of the LPIC-1 book by Roderick Smith and his PDF Linux+ book. I found that he presented things well but I wanted another book to supplement my preparation for the exam.

The good thing is that I am finding myself understanding things much clearer and the two LPIC books complement each other but there are some caveats to this book that I am not so sure about either the usefulness about the guide (I read 6 chapters so far). They are as follows...

1) Some of his comments are not necessary and either are his opinion or incorrect.
2) There have been some typos as noted and that worries me that I am getting the wrong information (so I double check many of the command syntax). Some of his comments lead to misunderstanding and a few of his answers to his questions are wrong or can have another answer since some of the chapter questions are written in a vague fashion.
3) The topics are somewhat brief and the reader may miss an important phrase (some extra bold fonts would help).
4) He talks about things somewhat in more detail compared to Roderick Smith's book including more options for commands but there is some overkill where he talks about things that are relatively obscure and I do not believe on the exam (extra vi commands, and other things) but I may be wrong.
5) His chapter questions are mostly multiple choice but some are long answers. He also does this on the sample tests as well. I believe the LPIC test is all multiple choice so why does he do this... The other book is all multiple choice answers...

Update:
I will be taking this exam soon... The more I read of this book, the more that I am finding errors which are significant (that need to be fixed) for example some options are capitols when they should be lower case (for example the passwd command options -U and -L, unlocking and locking, should be -u and -l respectively) which I verified with a few sources so beware and check things while reading this book.

The information is very well organized and different kinds of ideas are successfully relating together which I like the most. The author really knows what he is talking about and the way he is describing the topic is very helpful for the learning curve.

The book is well structured reflecting the LPIC certification syllabus to give the candidate a clear idea about the exam syllabus as well as the content.For those who wants to pass the LPIC exam this should be the main book along with any supplementary book. The book really helps me to secure my certification. This book should also be recommended for those who want to learn Linux properly and in a good way.

The reading time was very enjoyable , pleasant and attractive from beginning to end. While reading, I have a feeling that this is one of the best book in IT and Linux.

Muy buena historia de epoca, Teresa la protagonista mujer que NO se autocompadece y sabe afrontar las situaciones siendo siempre fiel a ella misma. Rod Kingcross hombre duro, desconfiado que tendra que luchar con sus deminios para poder ser feliz. Muy bien narada, no cae en cliches, cubre todas las historias sin dejar cabos sueltos y como no con ganas de saber mas. Se pued leer sola, pues el libro antetior es la historia de su amiga Cammy y yo no me he enterado hasta ver que mas tenia esta autora. Me encantaria saber que pasara con Liz Kingcross o con Miguel (hermanos de los protagnistas) y que es de sus respectivas vidas.

The Battle for Territory!

This book in the series will show how determined Kallik, Lusa, Toklo, and Yakone are to keep their territory from the mange pelted wolves. You will meet many new brown bears in this book that will help and hurt the 4 bear's journey, but in the end they come together and create a creative plan to get rid of the wolves. If you are reading the series in order this particular book will show you Toklo's childhood back then and present day because this book takes place in his birth place, but if your new than I advise you to start from the beginning to get a feel of how this whole journey started.

I loved this book, it might have a little bit of death in the series, but to me this book is still quite interesting. If you do not if you can handle bears fighting sometimes and blood, and to see how animals struggle in life,you might not want to read this book. Thank you for reading.

Excellent single volume overview, but depends on what you're seeking

To determine whether Bird's "Understanding Wine Technology" is for you, it is necessary to decipher its positioning. It is an overview of all areas of commercial wine production from a less-technical basis (meaning something like "few chemical formulas, with all jargon explained very clearly). In the introduction, Bird says, "The book is aimed at the person with no formal scientific training, yet who is interested in the science behind wine and wants to know the mechanism behind the complex transformations that take place."

The book delivers perfectly on that promise: it is amazingly readable and covers nearly every conceivable (general) topic regarding production. What it does *not* do is to provide detailed depth in any area (see below), cover non-production aspects such as details of individual varietals or wines, nor present a winemaking manual. It covers commercial rather than home production, although of course there is some overlap.

If you want one of the following, then the book is for you: an substantial breadth view of topics; an overview of the science; an overview of commercial wine production. On the other hand, if you want something else, it is *not* for you: detailed technical depth on chemistry (try Margalit instead); a guide to wines, regions, or wineries; a guide to wine making. For my part, I am an aficionado and home winemaker, and it has added breadth to my knowledge. It's a good "first source" to look up something before delving into more depth.

Preview pages ("see inside") are not yet posted for this volume, so I will clarify what it includes. There are 23 chapters that take up 290 pages of primary text. These include virtually every topic from vineyard to bottling. In addition to the usual topics ("in the vineyard", "producing the must", "fermentations", "clarification and fining", etc.) there are interesting and more industry-focused chapters, including a chapter on "quality control and [hazard] analysis". In other words, the topics are comprehensive, but at an average of 10 pages per topic, each topic provides only an overview of its area.

The print quality is good, heavy weight, glossy paper. A pleasant surprise was the number of interesting color photographs, taken in vineyards and wineries around the world. These help immensely to illustrate the concepts.

Finally, to clarify just how much depth there is, here is a paragraph describing cold soak processes:

"Pre-ferment maceration, otherwise known as a 'cold soak', can be used to extract more aromas from the skins, This is identical to the so-called 'skin-contact' process as used in the production of aromatic white wine (sse p. 104). During this period the must has to be cooled to somewhere between 15 and 4 degrees C in order to prevent the fermentation starting, so that the cells containing the flavour and aroma compounds can be broken. This is particularly effective with Pinot Noir, where the aromas are very valuable, but the danger of the extraction of polyphenols is minimal because of the nature of the thin skins." [p. 90]

That description took about 1/3 of a page. If you imagine that level of description multiplied across hundreds of carefully arranged and progressive topics, ending up with almost 300 pages total, you can imagine this book. I find it tremendously interesting and helpful, but again, it is an overview not a technical guide. Cheers!

Could It Be Better?

I bought this book on the basis of the previous reviews and I agree with the praise in large part. Let me start by saying I read Yair Margalit's comprehensive volume on wine chemistry shortly after the first edition was published simply because I couldn't find "Wine Chemistry for Dummies." It required the constant help of my friends Morrison, Boyd, and Lehninger. Having a modest collegiate background in chemistry helped but the whole experience was one of concept overload. Bird does an outstanding job of taking the major chemical concepts in winemaking and making them eminently understandable by parsing them out in digestible nuggets. I read this book primarily for the chemistry but was drawn into his discussions of wood and storage. The chapters on fining and filtration seemed to hold particular interest for the author, but I found them overlong. When he publishes his Fourth Edition there are a few things I'd like to see. First, the color pictures are nice but they don't provide the information that a well drawn diagram could provide. Although his narrative about the different types of crushers, destemmers, and pressers his good, a diagram of each type would have been more helpful than a picture, especially to those of us that are not generally familiar with mechanical devices.

Chapter 10 is entitled, "Sparkling and Fortified Processes," is a scant eleven pages. The chapter title alone, by including both, gives the reader a warning that these subjects will be given short shrift. Yes, there are other resources for this information, like Julian Jeff's $700 book on Sherry. But Bird writes so well that it seems a shame that he devotes more time to filtration than he does to these complex processes.

This volume fills in many gaps in the winemaking process that are present the standard wine references. It also made me recognize the gaps I still have in the production of Champaign, Port, and Sherry.

I believe this book really dissects many things about wine technology and presents the information in a very succinct manner. I learn something new from each chapter. As a trained winemaker, I appreciate those nuggets of information that David presents.
