Intuitive-Hilarious-A must read!

As an avid UFC and Forrest Griffin fan, I finally bought this book after much contemplation. I wasn't sure what to expect and boy was I in for a surprise. I have a dry sense of humor and this book despite a detailed rundown of techniques and tips, I laughed so hard throughout this book. There is no room for boredom in this book. I wish my college textbooks were this much fun to read. Forrest is a master in print as well as in the octagon. I went on to buying another of his books because I'm his biggest reading fan now!

Forrest Griffin is insane and hilarious

Literally made me LOL many times, which I don't think any other book has ever done to me. I'm struggling to decide who I would suggest this to... anyone who is mildly into/following MMA - you will love it and find it hilarious and it's a MUST read for sure. Anyone not into MMA at all, I actually think you'd still enjoy it. There's just so many crazy stories and just funny real life lessons. And Big John contributes, and is part of the funniest part of the book.

It's just so raw and brutally honest, Forrest Griffin is insane and hilarious.

Inspiring and Hilarious

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book. I bought while looking for books on inspiration, but expected it to be more comical given the title and seeing that there was another Griffin book on how to survive the apocalypse.

This book rocked my world. I was looking stupid as hell standing in the chow line laughing as loud as I was. This book will keep you entertained. I generally like to drag my books out over the course of at least a week, because I never know when the next one will get to my ship, but I read this one in about two days; though for a serious reader, it probably wouldn't take that long.

Aside from being a nice change of pace and keeping me in good spirits while I was reading it, the book was inspiring since I like to think that I might one day be able to pursue a career in fighting, and I just think it's fun. Lots of good advice and good stories.

Even if you don't give a rats arse about fighting, I still recommend this book. It's a fun read.

Knowledge is Power

Even if you are not a resident of California, you will find some valuable information in the California Motorcycle Accident Handbook. As attorney Smith clearly identifies in the opening paragraphs of the book, "Knowledge is power." Without appropriate knowledge you may find that your best interests have not been properly represented.

The book begins with information regarding the scope of the problem involving motorcycle crashes, nature and extent of injuries, and some of the more common causes of crashes. As a clinical neuropsychologist who has treated the survivors of motorcycle and auto crashes, I was encouraged to see him recommended helmets. The facts are clear; motorcycle helmets increase survivability rates and also help prevent the most serious types of brain injuries.

Once one is injured in motorcycle wreck, there are many questions that arise. Mr. Smith clearly identifies the most common of the questions for the reader. In clear and concise language that the regular person can understand, he answers the most common questions. As he aptly points out a competent attorney can save you time, money and a lot of emotional stress.
One thing I really enjoyed learning more about was the hiring process. He points out the 7 things you want to avoid in hiring an attorney. In my practice over the years I cannot tell you how many of my patients had retained the WRONG attorney. You want someone who is knowledgeable about this aspect of the law. Your cousins real estate attorney may be have represented him well on the sale of his home but remember you want a pro that has a proven record of success.

Overall this is an excellent book which is well written. The author makes the topic easy to understand. Highly recommended.

If You've Been In An Accident, Get This Book

With a book like this the title pretty much says it all. If you drive a motorcycle or, worse, been involved in an accident while driving a motorcycle this book is a must read. The author, who is an attorney who specializes in such matters, covers all aspects of the potential legal issues and pitfalls that you may encounter. From damage claims to medical bills to dealing with Medi-Cal the author covers it all in straight forward language that non-lawyers can understand. Note this book is only written with the great state of California in mind and shouldn't be used in other states, although it might still be useful as a guide. If you ride a motorcycle you would be wise to read this book.

Chock full of helpful information

In my time as an attorney I've learned of friends who have suffered automobile and motorcycle accidents. As an attorney who does not practice personal injury law, when I learned of such accidents in the past I was at a loss to give that friend any helpful advice on how to proceed with their case. Now with Ed Smith's powerfully concise primer on the subject in my library, I am well equipped to give such friends basic advice on how to proceed, questions they should be asking, etc. Better yet, I would likely just recommend that any friend who's been in a motorcycle accident simply buy this book on Amazon and thereby put themselves in the driver's seat on their road to recovery. And because this book is written for a lay audience and is not filled with indecipherable legalese, I can feel confident knowing that any friend who buys this book will be buying an extremely powerful and easily understandable toolkit filled with useful knowledge.

A good supplement book for massage therapists

This is a good supplemental book for professional massage therapists and bodyworkers as it lists symptoms that are mimicked by several conditions with the major concentration on musculoskeletal conditions as well as some systemic conditions. Is that back pain or a kidney infection? Learn to tell the difference with this book by being able to ask the client more questions to narrow it down. I would like to have seen it as a thicker, more comprehensive text. It's about 1 inch or more thick.

Catherine Goodman provides physical therapists with a valuable reference to be utilized in the differential diagnosis of patients. She has developed easy to follow tables and charts that help the therapist identify alternate sources of pain and dysfunction that should be analyzed when patients don't get better in the usual manner. Well organized and easy to you. A must own for every clinic.

Differential Diagnosis - prescription: must reading

Goodman and Snyder have compiled a very readable text on differential diagnosis. There are numerous illustrations and tables to augment the text. Important concepts are presented several times to reinforce their importance to the reader. This text would be a valuable addition to any physical therapist's library, especially those therapists who routinely receive "evaluate and treat" referrals from nonspecialists.

I purchased this Prentice-Hall and recommended the series for our curriculum development plan; I used the Pre-Algebra text's with terrific results. The middle-school students became more independent learners because the text's features supported my classroom expectations / discipline for teaching independent learner skills such as independent reading of math text, lesson development, and rehearsal (practice). The most important features are the annotated examples with corresponding "Quick Checks"

I love this series! I am using the Geometry series for this upcoming year. Oh yeah, the texts are aligned with the current National Core Standards.
