A quick, enjoyable and sexy read ... sometimes, that's what I'm in the mood for!

This book really surprised me! I had gotten it for free so didn't expect too much but I started / finished in one sitting and am now looking forward to the next one in the series.

The plotline is pretty basic ... Tortured / damaged Hero meets kind-hearted and unassuming heroine. Our Hero, Gabe, is your typical tattooed, broody, Alpha bad boy who is controlling in bed. He is a construction worker by day and a professional escort by night. His clients like him for his dominant personality and how he treats them with little-to-no affection. Not that he beats them up or weird stuff like that, but he gives them exactly what they want with no emotional connection, and that's the way he likes it. He thinks that he is wired to be that way with any woman, not just his clients, but little does he know ...

One day, he gets a new neighbor, Riley, who just moved from Texas to Seattle. Riley has left behind her conservative parents and an ex-fiance in Texas, all of whom treated her like crap. She found her fiance cheating on her and he hit her, she left, and now needs to fly under the radar because he may / may not be looking for her. This part of the plot wasn't fleshed out too well, but it is a shorter-than-average book so I understand the glossing over of certain details. Didn't really take away from my enjoyment of the book.

The story is basically about Gabe struggling to continue in his career as an escort - his reasons for having to do this are explained in the book, and it's not because he's a horndog - and the growing relationship between Gabe and Riley. We are also introduced to some interesting secondary characters - namely, Logan and Shane, two friends of Gabe who are also escorts and who will obviously be getting their own stories later on. There is plenty of angst in the book, quite a few descriptions of schmexy time, and yes, an HEA for the couple at the end. No cliffhanger!

I get it ... this isn't going to be a classic and this isn't going to be a book club selection anytime soon. However, it is a nice, quick, sexy read if you are someone who likes ...

1) Tortured hero with alpha characteristics
2) Kind-hearted heroine who is not a knockout beauty but is a good person
3) An interesting storyline that comes with a few twists and turns, so while the HEA may be predictable, the events that lead up to it may be surprising
4) Descriptions of sexy times don't bother you, and you are looking for a quick read with interesting sex scenes but still with a storyline that keeps you engaged

I admit .. I wish some parts of the plot were fleshed out more. If the author were to add another 100 pages or so to the story, for instance, we could have gotten more re: the history (and aftermath) of Gabe and his mother; Riley and her parents and fiance; what happened after Gabe revealed his "secret" and how he and Riley cope; more background on both Gabe and Riley personally. However, even without these details, the book was still a pleasure to read. Sometimes, we just need a book that is quick and easy to read, but still interesting and engaging enough so we don't feel like complete dopes, but also will make us hot with descriptive sex scenes. This is such a book. There are some grammatical / spelling errors but nothing too awful. I suggest you give this book a try ... .you may be pleasantly surprised like I was. I certainly look forward to more from this author!

3 Hearts for Gabe & Riley

When it comes to sex, Gabe has two rules: he won't kiss you and you can't touch him. To prevent any accidental touches, his willing clients are tied up with bindings he insists they bring themselves. Sounds hot, right? It is, until you realise that he's not actually into kink, but these conditions are the outcome of a deeply troubled past⎯a past that causes him to hate his job as an escort. But he needs the money it brings in to pay his bills and to replace whatever his drug-addicted mother steals from him. Riley is running away from her televangelist parents and her cheating, confidence-smashing ex-fiance, and ends up living next door to Gabe. Despite being attracted to each other, their "friendship" is strained by miscommunications and trust issues. Both have demons they need to overcome if they're going to have a chance at a happy and healthy relationship.

GABRIEL'S RULE is a story I would consider an insta-love and is told in dual POVs. I noticed that sometimes the POV would change in the middle of the chapter without any notice, which was quite confusing. The twist involving Gabe's mother was both shocking and unexpected, and certainly explained a lot. But the revelation is made just before the story finishes, so it ended up feeling rushed and unresolved, which was disappointing. Perhaps we'll hear more about it in the other two books in the series that are about Gabe's friends. But in regards to Gabe and Riley, it appears they escaped their pasts and got their HEA.

Words Can't Express...

Words can't express how much this book got to me! Oh wow! I did not expect such a deeply emotional, troubling and touching story. This truly proves you can't judge a book by it's cover. Because the cover is HOT and the title has your mind already imagining all sorts of steamy scenes. The book is indeed hot and steamy, but it is sooooo much more than that.

Gabe is such a troubled and tortured soul and had a horrible life as a child - some things you just can't wrap your mind around because it's inconceivable. His past really and truly shaped the man he became and the issues he had with women and relationships and his need for control. Riley and Gabe found each other at a time when they needed the each other the most. In addition to Gabes issues, Riley was running from things in her recent past as well.

The story line was great, I cried like a baby when details of Gabes' life was revealed. In addition to the story being strongly emotional, there was definite chemistry - immediate attraction - and the sex scenes were hot and amazing. I most definitely recommend this book and I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next book in this series!

An Excellent introduction

From the very beginning of computers as we know them advanced thinkers had a vision that computers could do more than just process data and write things like pay checks - although pay checks are nice to get. In the last twenty years, however, entirely new concepts of graphical color images, sound, video and devices like phones, tablets and more have come into being. With them have come digital cameras and video recorders, color ink jet printers have replaced whining dot matrix printers, and more. These have been combined with visions of what can be or needs to be done. All of this has led to the concept we now call MULTIMEDIA.

Multimedia has developed into a subset of computing (yes, other computers still print pay checks), and this book gives an excellent introduction to what is involved. It talks about the hardware, the software and the concepts of what multimedia involves. It is intended for the casual interested reader and for use as a textbook for a variety of computer science classes. It provides a good base from which the interested reader moves to a text on the software systems to be used to produce the multimedia project.
